The tape player on my vcr died finally (had it about ten years) but I still want to use it as a channel changer. The vcr part thinks a tape is still in and keeps rewinding, playing and ejecting in a circular pattern. Eventually it turns off, giving me error code 2. If I take that unit out of the box, the vcr will turn on for a few seconds then turn off with error code 3. I just want it to change channels, so I can use it to watch dvds on a secondary tv in another room. If I can convert this box to do that without giving me error codes, that would be wonderful! Any one have any ideas?
