Question About Panasonic DVD Player SC-PT956
center speaker...

I cannot get the center speaker to work. The green terminal on the back of the console does not work for any speaker I plug in; if I plug the center speaker wire into any other terminal, it works. So it's the terminal. This is the second unit I've had; I returned the first for exactly this same problem. Help!

0 I solved this problem myself, but I think it shows a flaw in the Panasonic manual. The center speaker is apparently not supposed to come on unless you use the Dolby button on the remote. This is very counter-intuitive -- when you set up 4 front speakers, you expect 4 speakers to produce sound. The note about this is buried on p. 28 of the manual. Note to Panasonic - needed in manual - a big bold box that says NOTE: Center speaker will not produce sound unless... Thanks, Ernie
