RE Panasonic- ES30VEB I cannot get the machine to...

RE Panasonic- ES30VEB I cannot get the machine to copy (dub) from VHS to DVD. I have tried manual dubbing and one touch dubbing without anything copying. I have tried using Panasonic DVD- RAM rewritable and one time DVD- R discs and the machine says Read then No Disc. It plays commercial DVDs OK. Any suggestions please?
