Question About Panasonic DVD Recorder DMR-ES46V
Will No Longer Recognize Any DVD...

I was in the process of transferring 8mm tapes from a camcorder thru the IN1 port to DVDs. I was using Memorex DVD+Rs and was able to sucessfully burn 6 DVDs. Now it won't recognize any DVD, whether it be blank, already recorded or commercial discs. When I insert a disc or just close the tray without a disc, the drives makes "noises" and after a moment the display says "NoRead" and the TV onscreen says "Cannot Read. Please Check Disc". It does this with any disc or even an empty tray. Please Help! Thanks, Sam

0 I had the same problem. i got a cleaning kit (which consists of a disc with a brush on it and some cleaning fluid) and it did the trick. the manual recommends a specific kit to use, which i had to order on line and was kind of expensive.
