5 Based on the information you have provided concerning your Panasonic player, the U61 error message simply means that they has been a power interruption which has lead to power failure. The message can also be an indication of a disconnected AC plug while the unit was still on. In most cases, the unit corrects this problem after a few minutes by automatically running a recovery process. However, in some instances, the unit fails to automatically recover and the error code message persists. In such a situation, you can try fixing the problem by opening the lid of the player and sliding the lens assembly to its rearmost position and later reassembling the player and plugging it on. If the problem still persists after continuous plugging in and plugging off of the AC to a power source, try and change the entire power unit supply system and replace it with a new one.
