5 I forgot to mention, before you push in the TV/Video button & the swap button, "I believe the T.V. needs to be turned off?

5 I went ahead and removed the speaker units from the TV, but do not see anything that resembles a filter of any kind. In fact, it appears that the speaker area has no real opening for air to access the "inner" portion of the TVl (other than very small gapping where the red and white wire coming out of the TV to connect to the speakers *see included pictures* Is there something I'm missing? I appreciate you trying to help.

0 I just had a T.V. tech clean the filter. Take off the two back panels on each side of the T.V.--They look like the speaker panels. After unscrewing these two panels--unplug the speaker units themselves & set on the floor. The fliter is the plastic part in front ot these units. He used a cloth & some kind of electronic cleaner to pick up the dust. He said it they really didn't look that dirty, but this unit will give the prompt to clean after 400 hours of operation. He explained that there is a tube behind these filters--that filters the air for cooling--to the bulb. Replace the speaker units--then reset the timer on the unit by holding in the TV/Video button on the T.V. itself --while at the same time holding the swap on the remote control for 5-7 seconds. This should bring up a prompt to reset the timer for cleaning/or replacing the bulb.

0 Sorry guys--My first post--about what the T.V. repairman did is completely WRONG. There is no tube that circulates air to the filter via the speakers on the T.V. A $400.00 lesson that you can't trust anyone, especially a T.V. repairman. So I called Panasonic at 1-800-211-7262 & they really don't know either. The supervisor said he was being honest--he did not have a service manual on the pt-50lCX64, but he was 80% certain that the PT-52LCX15-B--that the air filter would be cleaned in the same manner. The problem--the file on the PT-52LCX15-B will not download. No one really knows how to clean this specific filter, including Panasonic. So after reading other messages on FIX-YA--the most viable resource, because the Fixya guy says he has a service manual on this specific T.V. Take off the silver front cover & you will see a small foam pad. This one does not come out, like others do. Vacumn that. He states that there are two other filters on the T.V.--but you have to remove the back panel, about 45 screws. Neither one of these will come out either, so you have to vacumn. The back ones did not look dirty! So I really don't know if they were the ones that needed cleaning or not. He also states that there are NO "air cleaning timers" that need to be reset on this T.V. And finally GOOD LUCK--just do not learn an expensive lesson the hard way by calling a T.V. repairman on this one.

0 according to "justanswer.com" this is a notice that your light engine is failing and it cost over 1,000.00 dollars to fix. So your tv is just a big paperweight
