my friend gave me his panasonic tv 54'' because it...

my friend gave me his panasonic tv 54'' because it turns off by itself, do i have just to replace the lamp? or it is a problem with the circuit board or else. i brought it home and when i turn it on, the screen saids that the lamps needs replacement and reset it.
