how do you turn off the +vr mode? I am receiving ...

how do you turn off the +vr mode? I am receiving a code saying that will not record in +VR mode (E45). However, after researching online, it says that this should only be a problem with certain disc, not the +RW that I am using. Is this not true? Will the record mode work if I turn off the +VR mode, and how do I do this?
