Problem with my DVP3150V DVD/VCR player. My remote...

Problem with my DVP3150V DVD/VCR player. My remote is dead and has been discontinued so I can't access the menus of my DVDs. Otherwise the machine works. I can turn it on and off manually but it will only play the first selection of a DVD when I hit the "play" button. If there are other selections I can't access them.
