Question About Philips DVD VCR Combo DVP3345Vs

How can do connect the vcr,tv, and cable connection so that I can record from the tv. I currently can watch DVD's and tapes, but I can't record shows onto tape from the tv.

0 i have the machine hooked up but don't know if it's right because I can't play a vhs or dvd. Can't find user manual.
