I was told in order to get HD on my Pillips model ...

I was told in order to get HD on my Pillips model 37PF5520D/10, I would need to use a HDMI cable. I have a fitting for it on my cable box but there is not fitting on the tv. So why does it say that it's HD ready on the tv?
