we have had this TV for 3 years, working beautiful...

we have had this TV for 3 years, working beautifully. Recently we lost the picture - all we get is a completely black screen, with the sound playing normally. What to do? Will a reset fix the problem? If yes, how do i do this as there is no visual to help me through the program. Thanks Gary
