Why won't the DV-610av play a Region 2 DVD? It is...

Why won't the DV-610av play a Region 2 DVD? It is supposed to play DVDs from regions 1-6, but refuses to recognize or play commercially-made disks from Britain. Is there a fix for this? And if not, why does Pioneer claim this product will do something it doesn't?

0 The manual does not appear to even recognize this problem, let alone address it. It's my hope that someone here will have had a similar experience, and know the solution.
