The dvr-x122 does not burn CD-R but it can burn the CR-RW. I have used the device to burn CD-R CD-RW and DVD disks succesfully using the Burn4free software. However, Yesterday 10/25/2008, I can burn the CD-RW disk at spped 10x. However, when I attempted 3 times to burn the CD-R, they failed with with the below error message. Noted that I also upgraded my computer with window xp service package 3 SP3 yesterday.
