I have a 12v dc adapter but the pdv0700 calls for 9.5v at the plug. Will it hurt the dvd if I use the 12v adapter for the car?

0 I have the manual but it doesn't say the 12v car plug will work for the 9.5v plug in the DVD. Does the DVD convert the 12vlots to 9.5volts?
