1 The humming sound is, sorry to say, permanent. The only way to get volume without the hum is to get a component switch box from like wal-mart and route the audio to an externalmedia, such as a home stereo or surround sound. 1 if you have cable or satallite a humming noise often means that the volume on your BOX is turned down and you are boosting the hum from the power supp;y to audable levels with tv volume control

1 That's the issue with this model. Regardless what you are using, whether it is cable, sat, or just an analog signal, the noise remains. I personally believe that the issue stems from a over looked detail with the power supply in the initial product development.
