When I turn on the TV, the red light remains red a...

When I turn on the TV, the red light remains red and never changes and the TV screen remains black. It never comes on. In the beginning I just unplugged it to reset it and it would work. But now it doesn't. I checked the capitories (not sure on spelling) and they are all intact and not busted.
