RCA combo recorders have a known design error in their power-supply which will cause the unit to fail prematurely, typically just after its warranty expires. If your unit stops working and acts completely dead don't get upset or frustrate and throw it out. Use the URL below to access my technical repair-brief. It explains step-by-step how to completely restore your unit back to 100% operational condition. All that's involved is simply replacing a single electrolytic capacitor on its power-supply board. The replacement part is available at your local Radio Shack and costs only $1.59 plus tax.
