The volume suddenly went off while we were watchig a show ...

The volume suddenly went off while we were watchig a show. The picture continues fine but no sound. We've tried changing channels, clicking the mute button, and adjusting the volume without luck. We have a cable box attached. Two other TV sets we have linked to the cable work fine, sound and all. How can I get the sound back on my main set?
