My sansui sled2490a keeps flashing message usb port unplugged and I cannot use my remote to control the tv during this time.

5 The user manual is available for download here: http://www.sansuiproducts.com/images/manuals/SLED2490.pdf Page 23 describes step by step instructions on how to use the Time Shift feature. If you are getting the error message "USB Memory is unplugged...USB Memory is not connected" then you probably don't have a USB drive attached. If that is the case then you can't use the Time Shift feature.
