Question About Scientific Atlanta DVR None
8300HDC recording issues...

Unit is scheduled to record but it doesn't the Guide Bar for the program is gray. Recod square is gray with a slash through it. It was set to record another show one hour into the first recording which recorded fine. (yes, they were on seperate programs....)

0 I apologize I don't have a solution, but a problem of my own I need help with. For me, this DVR records shows in segments. For instance a 1 hour show will typically be recorded in 7 segments - maybe a 21 min; a 2 min: a 7 min; etc until the hour is reached. This is the second box I have had from the cable company and I have the same problem. Can anyone tell me what the deal is? The cable company pleads ignorance and only wants to give me another of these outdated pieces of junk. Oh, on the outdated part - one of the options is to "Record to VCR". VCR??? What year is this box anyway?! Thanks.
