Get 5 blinks and cannot get the lamp out...

I get 5 blinks. A repair shop told me that it could be the bulb so I should check it first. I opened the lamp cage but cannot get the lamp out. I turned it to the left and the lamp is loose but the connector appears jammed. I was told that it is possible that the lamp blew the connector got fused. Is this possible?
