BDP-CX960 sony black 400disc is not reading disc its saying invalid disc how do i fix it

0 I just fixed mine. It turns out the invalid disc is a result of the 18-way ribbon cable connecting the laser pickup fraying because it bends back and forth with each disc. I soldered 2 wire jumpers on the 2 lines that were broken and now it works great.
