How do I play a CD? This manual has TOO MUCH INFO...

How do I play a CD? This manual has TOO MUCH INFORMATION - everything except how to insert a DVD and play it! Can anyone tell me that? What channel should the TV be on, & what button do I push on the DVD remote to get a movie DVD or music CD to play?

0 Exactly my questions. The manual is next to useless and does not help with what are the most basic of operations. Surely Sony can do better than this?
