I just aquired a Sony RDR-GX 120 DVD recorder but ...

I just aquired a Sony RDR-GX 120 DVD recorder but the instructions are for a different remote to the manual. I have a remote RMT-D215P. Recorder is not responding to the remote whatsovever.
