My Sony RDR HXD 970 keeps losing all digital channels after being switched off. I have to auto tune them back in again each time I use it. Is their a back battery that needs replacing or is it faulty?

5 I had exactly the same problem after the digital switchover. I solved it by resetting the recorder to its factory settings, by holding down the stop button on the recorder simultaneously with the power button

5 I did read on some forum or other, that you can try removing the aerial from the back of the recorder and do a rescan - obviously it finds no channels. Then replace the aerial and rescan. I didn't work for me, but might be worth a try. I found that only by restoring the factory settings did the channels hold once the recorder powered down. Sorry I can't be of more help!!

5 i have tried the press stop and on button simultaneously and it has worked ok so far (5 days) i do leave the plug in and switch on so dvd is sort of on standby. Will will see what happens.....thanks for the feedbacks on this matter, much appreciated.

5 I had this problem and solved it by fitting an attenuator. The problem is that the signal is too strong and by fitting one of these adjustable devices you are able 'turn down' the signal - 85% - that did it for me

4 I have tried this in all permutations but it the channels are still not holding. Should the power on TV and DVD or not, programmed or not. Anything you can tell me will be helpful.
