My remote that I received with my combo never worked properly. I bought a Sony Universal remote and spent hours trying to get the player to recognize, but that was a waste or $20.00. You can buy the Sony remote for $50.00 plus if you google the model number, I wouldn't waste your money, the reviews on the remotes for the Sony combo's are pretty awful
