Question About Sony DVD VCR Combo RDR-VXD655
video cassette recorder dvd recorder rdr-vxd655...

I am attempting to record on my dvd player using DVD+R DL discs. There are numerous references to recording with this type of disc in the operating manual but when I try to use it for recording, the message appears that the disc is not recognized and the disc tray opens. Is there something I don't know? Help!
