0 I used the hdmi to a dvi adapter from the cable box, then for audio took coaxial cable to the VCR from the same cable box. Then from the VCR took the RCA outputs to the audio input on the DVI as long as the VCR was on the TV input the both the TV and the VCR worked simultaneous
