Why does my Symphonic VCR won't let me select the ...

Why does my Symphonic VCR won't let me select the channel I want to record ? When I press the channel button to go up, it only says LP1 or LP2 and the basic channel 3. What's going on? I hope someone has the has the answer. Thank you. Bulldog 310
