Question About Toshiba DVD Recorder DR340

I have a Toshiba DR340. And I am using the A/V connection to play DVDs. I am able to play a prerecorded DVD with no problem. However, it will not play a homemade DVD even when the homemade DVD will play on other devices. When inserting a homemade DVD, I get the following message: "Disc Error, -- Please eject the disc. -- Playback feature may not be available on this disc." Thanks in advance for any assistance

5 It's quite possible the DVD player isn't programmed for the type of recordable DVD. DVD +R and DVD -R are two different formats. Try transferring to the opposite type of DVD that you originally used.
