Question About Toshiba DVD Recorder DR430KU
toshiba DVD RECORDER DR430KU...

I recorded and finalize a DVD from the tape...however..I can only play back that DVD on that same DVD recorder. When I put the DVD in other DVD player...an error message showed up "no disc" "cannot play"...please help if u know what the problem is.

5 Your dvd was not properly finalized. If you use a diagnostic program such as CDspeed, it should tell you that the disk is "open" meaning not finailized. I have had similar problems with this unit. If you add the disk back to the dvd recorder, and finalize option is grayed out then the unit failed to finalize properly. If the option is not grayed out then you simply did not finalize. You can then finalize the disk. If the disk is indeed finalized improperly, you have basically a useless disk. If you are desperate for the data on that disk, you can purchase a program called Isobuster. This program will enable you to recover all of the files from the disk back to your hard disk and reburn another dvd.
