Question About Toshiba DVD Recorder RD88DTKTB dvd recorder

I use Toshiba HDD/DVD Video Recorder RD-88DT-K-TB. Region 2 is written on the back panel, but when I use a region 2 dvd disc, the recorder cannot play! Any advice? Dominic donnyluv2001@yahoo.co.uk
