Machine keeps turning off - screen flickers, durin...

Machine keeps turning off - screen flickers, during which the four colour lights flash and then the machine shuts down. this can happen several times or just once. Screen does not flicker all time. If dubbing when shuts down - goes through the 'repairing' proceedure. Anyone got any ideas what problem is?
