I removed back and located power supply board. There is brown scorches on metal housing above power supply board but there are no obvious burned circuits on the board. The power supply board fuse is good. Lead to front power button of TV test at 3.96V DC but I don't know what it is supposed to be. Power board is jumped at a place labeled 12V and is not jumped at the 18V spot so I wonder if front switch should have 12V reading instead of less than 4V, again I don't know. I'm reading a lot of places that Viewsonic power supplies are notoriously bad but what is making me wonder about mine being bad is the side LED green light being lit. The screen is staying completely black and there is no noise at all coming from the TV when the power cord is plugged up and power button is pressed. Any help or advise is appreciated. I've called around and nobody wants to work on Viewsonic's in my area. This has been an eye opener. I figured that Viewsonic would be ok because my work used to have their monitors and you couldn't kill them. Thanks for any help.
