How do I get a 1080p picture on the screen? All of the feeds from cable or on the DVD player are coming in at 720?

5 You must have sources that output at 1080p. Like you said your DVD and cable will only output up to 720p in most cases (DVD are actually at an even lower quality - 480p). To see a 1080p pi cute you'll need to use a BluRay player to watch BluRay disks on. Make sure you use an HDMI when connecting all HD sources to your TV. Some video games system will also output at 1080p but, like DVDs, these are often lower quality pictures "upscaled" so they say they are 1080p but often aren't.
