Can I get my Yamaha DV C6660 DVD player to play DV...

Can I get my Yamaha DV C6660 DVD player to play DVD in PAL region 2, purchased in America and plays NSTC region 1. TV it is hooked up to plays both formats but dvd player not reading PAL/region1 DVD's, plays region 2 DVD's ok
