Names of parts and controls

STANDBY/ON indicator
Lights in red when the power cord is connected and
the unit is on standby. When the unit is turned on,
the STANDBY indicator lights in green.

STANDBY/ON button (25)
Turns the unit on or off (standby).
3 Remote sensor (22)
Receives signals from the remote control unit.
4 Disc tray (25)
Used to load a disc.

(OPEN/CLOSE) button (25)
Used to open and close the disc tray.

DVD AUDIO indicator
Lights when a DVD AUDIO disc is loaded.
7 PROGRESSIVE indicator (17)
Lights up when the Progressive scan mode is active.
It lights in green during playback of a film-source DVD
VIDEO disc when “PROGRESSIVE MODE” in
“PREFERENCE 1” is set to “SMART”, “FILM” or
“AUTO.” In other conditions when the Progressive
scan mode is active, it lights in red.

Indicates the current status of the unit.

(SKIP) buttons (27, 51)
Used to skip a chapter, title or track. Also, used for
the page selection of a menu screen (for Video CD).
Holding down 4or ¢ during playback reverses or
advances playback rapidly (except MP3 disc).

(STOP) button (26, 51)
Stops playback.

(PLAY) button (26, 51)
Starts playback. Also, used as a SELECT button for
PBC of Video CDs.

(PAUSE) button (26, 51)
Pauses playback. Also, used to display nine
continuous still pictures (STROBE function).
