Disc Operation
• When appears on the screen while a button is being pressed, it means that the
corresponding operation is prohibited by the unit or the disc.
8 Press ACTION to redisplay DVD
MAIN MENU and go to step 4 to set
up another item. Or, press ACTION
three times to exit.
DRC (Dynamic Range
Compression)
OFF:
Normal audio range is selected. (Factory
preset)
ON:
For dynamic sound even at low volume.
This is useful for late-night listening.

display MAIN MENU.
2 Press ▲▼◄ ► to select “DVD.”
3 Press SET to display DVD MAIN
MENU.
AUTO:
“FIELD” (Field still) or “FRAME” (Frame
still) is automatically selected during the
still mode. (Factory preset)
6 Press ACTION twice to exit this
mode.
Field:
“FIELD” (Field still) is always selected.
This setting will reduce jitter when
compared with “AUTO” on some discs.
Frame:
“FRAME” (Frame still) is always selected.
Some texts and fine patterns will be seen
clearly when compared with “AUTO” on
some discs.

When connecting an amplifier (with an
optical digital input connector) which does
not contain the Dolby Digital or dts decoder,
be sure to select “PCM.” If “Bitstream” is
selected, starting DVD play may cause
such a high level of noise as to be harmful
to your ears and damage the speakers.

When a dts decoder is connected, please
select “Bitstream” in “dts.” If “PCM” is
selected, there will be stereo sound.

When a Dolby Digital decoder is connected,
please select “Bitstream” in “Dolby Digital.”
If “PCM” is selected, there will be stereo
sound.
