Selecting the Audio OUT sound
This feature allows you to select the sound source (MAIN or POP)
that is output from the AUDIO OUT terminals (for example, see
“Connecting two VCRs” on page14).
This is useful when amplifying or recording the POP sound with
external equipment while listening to the sound of the main picture
through the built-in speakers. See “Connecting an audio system” on
page 17.
To select the Audio OUT sound:
1. Press MENU, and then press x or until the AUDIO menu
appears.
2. Press y or z to highlight AUDIO OUT.
3. Press x or to select MAIN or POP.

Using the StableSound
®
feature
The StableSound
®
feature limits the highest volume level to prevent
extreme changes in volume when the signal source is changed (for
example, to prevent the sudden increase in volume that often happens
when a TV program switches to a commercial).
To turn on the StableSound
®
feature:
1. Press MENU, and then press x or until the AUDIO menu
appears.
2. Press y or z to highlight STABLE SOUND.
3. Press x or to select ON.

Note:
Make sure the volume control of your audio
amplifier is set to a moderate listening level.
Note:
When the POP window is closed, the sound
of the main program is output through the
AUDIO OUT terminals, even if POP is
selected in the AUDIO OUT menu.
The sound of the main program is always
output through the TV speakers, regardless
of the AUDIO OUT setting.
