I recorded a couple of TV shows onto a DVD+R disk on this machine so I could take it to my office and play them there, but it won't play on any DVD player I have access to except the SV2000 I recorded it on. 2 DVD players just won't load it, one gives a warning that the playback feature is not available, and the one on my (Mac) computer tells me that it is a blank disk. But it does play back just fine on the SV2000. I think there was something in the manual about some procedure needed to make some kinds of disks readable by other machines, but I don't remember the details and can't find my manual.

1 If you are recording to a DVD+Ror DVD-R as you posted, you need to finalize the disc before it will play on another DVD player. To finalize the disc go p.36 in your manual. If you don't have the manual just go to the set-up button, choose "Disc Edit" then choose "Finalize", then "OK". After you finalize you can't add anything to the disc. If you use the re-writable DVDs, you don't have to finaize them, you can erase them and use them again. There are manuals available online.
