If there is a problem with the camera, an
error message will appear. Follow the on-
screen instructions.
* If the error still persists, write down the error number and contact your
nearest Canon Service Center.

Communications between the camera and lens is faulty. Clean the
lens contacts.
ÎClean the electrical contacts on the camera and lens or use a
Canon lens (p.19, 22).

Card cannot be accessed. Reinsert/change card or format card
with camera.
ÎRemove and insert the card again, replace the card, or format the
card (p.34, 57).

Cannot save images because card is full. Replace card.
ÎReplace the card, erase unnecessary images, or format the card
(p.34, 254, 57).

Sensor cleaning could not be performed. Turn the camera off and
on again.
ÎOperate the power button (p.37).

An error prevented shooting. Turn the camera off and on again or
re-install the battery.
ÎOperate the power button, remove and install the battery pack
again, or use a Canon lens (p.37, 34).

An error prevented shooting. Turn the camera off and on again or

ÎThe lens movement may be obstructed. Turn the camera off and on
again, taking care not to touch the lens.
