Porches or other structures that
maintain a minimum 1:1 ratio of
the wall height to the overhang
length provide extra protection,
which keeps rain and other weather
elements away from the siding.
These areas may be designated
as Sheltered Areas. In these areas,
a minimum
1
/2-in. clearance is
required with appropriate flashing
between the bottom of James
Hardie trim or siding and solid
horizontal surfaces.
