OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Loading a DVD/VCD/CD Disc
1. Turn the ignition to the Accessory (ACC) position.
2. Press the POWER/ button.
3. Insert the disc into the disc slot with the label side facing up.
The player starts playback automatically.
NOTE: The player can load a disc while the power is off.
Playing MP3 Discs
CD-R/RW discs encoded in MP3 format are compatible with this device. After inserting an MP3
Disc, the DVD player will initialize the disc and display the directory (folder) on the monitor. The
menu screen appears automatically. You can use the menu screen to change folders and
songs. The system plays the songs in the order in which they were recorded onto the disc.
1. Press the
or buttons to choose a folder from the folder list on the left side of the
screen.
2. Press the ENTER button to select the highlighted folder. All songs available under the
selected folder are listed.
3. Use the
or button to choose a song from the list.
4. Press ENTER to play the selected song.
Use the (NEXT) button to move to the next song. Press the (PREVIOUS) button to
move to the beginning of the song.
Ejecting a Disc
Press the (EJECT) button to eject the disc.
NOTE: The player can eject a disc while the power is off.
Stopping play
1. Press the (Stop) button to stop playback. Press the (play) button to resume play-
back.
2. Press the
(Stop) button twice to stop playback and return to the initial Track/Chapter.
Rapid Forward/Reverse
Press the button to fast forward or the button to rewind during playback. Each time the
button is pressed, the speed changes (depending on the disc format) for DVD/VCD/CD/MP3
discs as follows: Normal playback > 2x > 4x > 8x > 20x.
Skipping Track
To skip to the next track, press the button on the remote control or front panel during
playback. Press to move to the previous track.
Slow Motion Playback (DVD/VCD)
Press the SLOW button during playback to activate slow motion playback. Press the SLOW
button repeatedly to move through the following playback options for DVD/VCD: 1/2x > 1/4x >
1/6x > 1/7x < 1/2x < 1/4x < 1/6x < 1/7x < Normal playback.
Pause (still picture)
Press the (PAUSE) button during playback to temporarily stop playback. Press PAUSE
twice to enter the step mode. Press ENTER to resume normal playback.
Menu Operation
A DVD is divided into sections called titles and chapters. When you play a DVD, a root menu
appears on the TV or Monitor screen. Contents of the menu vary depending on the disc. Press
MENU during playback to display the main menu. Some DVDs only allow you to select disc
playback options using the DVD root menu.
Display Mode
During playback, press DISP to display the current disc playback information. Press the DISP
button to remove the display.
DVD Playback
Disc type, elapsed time, remain time, Title number, Chapter number, view angle, audio
channel, audio type, language, and Subtitle number currently playing will be shown on the
screen. With the message on the screen, use the arrow buttons to select a different mode.
Input a number to change the title or chapter, or press the ENTER button to change the mode.
SVCD, VCD, and CD Playback
When playing an audio CD, the VHDIND will automatically display the following disc playback
information.
1. The current track
2. The number of total tracks
3. Playing time of the disc
4. Remaining time of the disc
MP3 Playback
During MP3 playback, press the DISP button to view the elapsed playing time.
Multi-Angle Function (DVD)
During playback, press ANGLE to change the current angle of a disc containing multiple
angles. If the disc has only one angle, appears on the screen, indicating that no other
angles are available.
Subtitle (DVD)
Press the SUBTITLE button repeatedly during playback to change the subtitle language for the
disc (if available). The number of available subtitle languages will vary depending on the disc.
Multi-Audio Language Function (DVD)
Press the AUDIO button repeatedly during playback to change the language for the audio
sound track (if available). The number of available languages will vary depending on the disc.
Some discs only contain one language sound track. When there are no other language sound
tracks, is displayed in the top left corner of the screen.
NOTE: Some DVDs only allow access to these functions through the DVD menu.
