Picture from external input is
distorted
The video signal from the external
device is copy-protected.
Connect the device directly to your
TV.
Some channels are skipped over
when using CH

The skipped channels were deleted
with the Add/Remove feature.
See “Add/Remove Channels” on page
23.
Picture or sound of broadcasting
channel is weak or missing.
Antenna or cables are loose.
Tighten connections or replace cable.
Wrong TV Signal is selected in the
DVD+VCR Setup menu.
See “Signal Type” on page 24.
Camcorder image via AV input
to DVD+VCR is not shown on TV
screen.
Camcorder is off.
Turn camcorder on and operate
properly.
DVD+VCR’s input is not set to Video 1
or Video 2.
Press TV VIEW to select the correct
input.
Cannot record or did not record
successfully.
The source you are trying to record is
copy- protected.
You cannot record the source.
When setting the recording channel,
the channel is tuned to the TV’s own
tuner.
Select the channel on the DVD+VCR’s
built-in TV tuner.
Timer Recording does not work.
DVD+VCR is not set to the correct
time.
Set date and time; see page 22.
Timer has been programmed
incorrectly. TIMER indicator light does
not appear after programming timer.

Stereo Audio Recording and/or

DVD+VCR.

Select AUX or AV source as TV input.
Remote control does not work
properly.
The remote control is not pointed at
the remote sensor of the DVD+VCR.
Point the remote control at the
remote sensor of the DVD+VCR.
The remote control is too far from the
DVD+VCR.
Operate the remote control within
23 ft (7 m).
There is an obstacle in the path of the
remote control and the DVD+VCR.
Remove the obstacle.
The batteries in the remote control
are dead.
Replace the batteries with new ones.
The remote is in the incorrect mode.
Press DVD for DVD control. Press VCR
for VCR control.
Disc Menu, Angle, Subtitle and/or
Audio functions do not work.
Not all discs include these features.
No solution.
Poor quality VHS playback.
The VCR heads are dirty.
Use a head cleaner to clean the VCR
heads.
