Setting up your television
Installing batteries in the remote control
To install batteries in the remote control:
1 Open the battery cover.
2 Insert two AA batteries.
3 Replace the cover.

and —Press to move up or down in the
menu.

menu or to adjust a menu setting.
12 GUIDE—Press to display the program guide
information, if available, when watchng a DTV
program. You may be able to view program
broadcasting time and program name from the
guide.
13 —Press to freeze the picture and stop the sound
during playback of a VCR or DVD player.

—Press to record a program using a VCR.

—Press to search backward on a DVD player or
VCR.

—Press to skip backward to the previous
chapter or track on a DVD player.
17 MTS/SAP—Press to select STEREO, SAP, or
MONO in analog TV mode. Press to select the
audio language in DTV mode.
18 ZOOM—Press to select the screen aspect ratio.

23 TV—Press to control a television.
24 CBL—Press to control a set top box.
25 - —Press to enter a program number for multiple
program channels such as 2-1, or 2-2.

volume.
27 INFO—Press to display the channel status or
signal information.
28 OK—Press to confirm a selection or toggle
between settings of the selected menu item.
29 EXIT—Press to exit the menu.

—Press to start playing a DVD or VCR tape.

—Press to stop playing a DVD or VCR tape.

—Press to search forward on a DVD player or
VCR.

Caution
Improper use of batteries can result in a leakage
of chemicals and/or explosion. Be sure to follow
the instructions below.
• Place batteries with their terminals
corresponding to the (+) and (-) indications.
• Different types of batteries have different
characteristics. Do not mix batteries of different
types.
• Do not mix old and new batteries. Mixing old
and new batteries can shorten the life of new
batteries and/or cause old batteries to leak
chemicals.
• Remove batteries as soon as they are
non-operable. Chemicals that leak from
batteries can cause a rash. If chemical leakage
is found, wipe with a cloth.
• The batteries supplied with the remote may
have a shorter life expectancy due to storage
conditions.
• If the remote control is not used for an
extended period of time, remove the batteries
from the remote control.
