Symptom Remedy
The voice or subtitle language selected
in the initial setting is not played.
Use a DVD disc containing the recording of the selected voice or subtitle language.
Press [SUBTITLE] or the [AUDIO] key on the remote and select the language.
The DVD specifications provide for selection at the menu screen. Select at the
menu screen of the disc.
Menu screen messages are not shown in
the desired language.
Select disc menu language. (See page 17.)
A VCD cannot be played using menus. Menu playback is available only with VCD discs recorded with P.B.C.

Remote control operation is not pos-
sible.
Replace with new batteries. (See page 15.)
Operate the unit inside the remote controllable range. (See page 15.)

operation.
