Video playback
There are several ways to see the picture and
hear the sound of the VCR, DVD player or
camcorder on your TV:
1. Use the Euro-AV sockets on the signal box
and VCR. This is the best way to get a good
picture and sound quality. For camcorders it
is best to use the front sockets AVS.
If you are playing back from a VCR with
Digital Link Plus, the VCR picture is shown
on the current station slot.
If you are playing back from a standard
VCR, DVD player or camcorder, select the AV
socket to which the video signal is
connected in the AV selection list or the
station table.
Video recorders emit a switching voltage
during playback which the TV set can
decode (can be activated for every VCR in
the connection wizard or set Settings - AV
Settings - Allow switching voltage to "Yes"
in the TV menu). Then the VCR picture is
shown on the current station slot as in
Digital Link Plus VCR's.
2. You can also control logged in Loewe VCRs
and DVD players with the video menu bar.
See page 11/20 for more details.
3. Use the antenna connection between the
VCR and the signal box. The sound is only
transmitted in mono. Select the first menu
item, e.g. VIDEO, in the AV selection.
IR-Link
”IR-Link” enables you to operate a concealed
d-Box or a video recorder from another
manufacturer with its remote control via the TV
set.
The ”Signal Box” is equipped with a connection
socket (IR-Link) for this purpose. You will need
an ”IR-Link cable” which is obtainable from
Loewe.
Plug the jack plug of the cable with infrared
transmitting diode into the IR-Link socket on
the back of the signal box. The infrared
transmitting diode at the end of this cable must
be placed in front of the concealed device. The
TV must be switched on for transmission.
A napped strip is provided to help to lay the
cable. The strip is self-adhesive; pull off the
backing foil first. Stick the strip to the shelf or
cabinet and press the cable into the naps. You
can cut up the strip into several sections with a
knife.
Point the infrared remote control at the TV to
operate the concealed VCR.
