PLAYBACK
DVD
Audio language or the subtitle
language of the DVD cannot be
changed.
• Multilingual subtitles are not supported by the disc.
• Some audio languages or the subtitle languages can be changed only
from the disc menu. Please refer to the disc’s manual.
Camera angles cannot be changed. • Even though the multi-angle feature is supported by the disc, that does
not mean all the scenes are shot from multi-angles. Changing angles are
available only for those scenes shot from the multi-angle.
The disc cannot be played back on
other player even though it is
finalized properly.
• Some DVD players do not play back the disc made on other recorder.
Refer to the manual of the unit.
EDITING
HDD / DVD
Titles cannot be edited or deleted. • The titles or the disc itself may be protected. Cancel the protection by
following the steps on page 86 for title protection and page 55 for disc
protection.
Dubbing cannot be executed. • When the number of the titles or the chapters exceeds the maximum
recordable number, the dubbing will not be executed.
• Dubbing of a “copy-once only” program is not possible with this unit.
DVD
Titles cannot be edited or deleted. • The titles in the DVD+R/-R cannot be edited or deleted if they are
nalised. If it is DVD-RW, undo the nalisation by following the steps on
page 56.
The capacity of the disc doesn’t
increase even if the recorded
program is deleted.
• With DVD+RW/-RW, the disc space will increase only when the last
title in the original is deleted. With DVD-R/+R, deleting a title will not
increase the disc space.
Dubbing cannot be executed. Check if the disc is compatible for recording (refer to page 37).
REMOTE CONTROL
The remote control does not function. • No batteries in the remote or the batteries may be weak. Replace the
batteries.
• Make sure there is no obstacle between the remote and the unit.
• Try getting closer to the unit. (Refer to page 12.)
• If above solutions do not solve the problem, please call an Authorized
Service Center.

– Can I record to CD-RW/-R? No, this unit records only HDD/DVD.
– Can I play back DVD-video that is bought in another
country?
Possible when the region code of the disc is 1 and All.
– Can I connect the unit to my PC? No, you cannot control the unit by PC.
– Can I program a timer recording with cable/satellite
box?
Yes, you can. Select “E1” or “E2” as your recording
channel, and leave the cable / satellite box on (pages 17,
42-45).
– Can I record one channel while watching another
channel using a cable / satellite box?
It depends on your connection configurations. For
more details, please kindly contact your cable / satellite
provider.
– Can I connect this unit directly to a TV which only has
an antenna in jack using an RF coaxial cable?
No. You need an RF modulator (commercially available)
to connect this unit to a TV which only has an antenna in
jack (page 16). This unit does not have an RF modulator.
– Can I change the channels on the cable / satellite box
using the remote control of this unit?
No. Changing the channels on the cable / satellite box
using this unit’s remote control is not possible. You
need to use the remote control supplied with the cable /
satellite box to change the channels on the cable / satellite
box.
