After you set the lock, you will need your passcode in order to:
view a V-Chip locked program
view the locked TV
cancel the lock
• enter the locked menus
If you forget your passcode, you can view the locked TV without entering your passcode. To do
this, simply press the buttons on your remote labeled “9” and “QV” at the same time when your
passcode is requested. Unlocking the TV this way is temporary.
If entering the V-Chip Parent Lock menu, then “9” and “QV” will delete your old passcode and
pressing or will permanently turn off the lock.
To change or permanently cancel the V-Chip Parent Lock:
1. Turn on your TV. If the TV requests your passcode, press
and at the same time.
2. Press to view the main menu, the select the ADVANCED
FEATURES Menu (see page 26). Press .
3. Use the to select “V-Chip Parent Lock” and press .
4. The on-screen display will ask for your current passcode. Press
and at the same time.
5. The on-screen display will now ask you to enter a new passcode:
• To cancel the passcode permanently, press or .
• To change to a new passcode, use the number buttons to
enter a new code, then press .
IMPORTANT
IMPORTANT
When changing or deleting your passcode, you must use the
remote control included with this TV. You cannot use a
remote control from another Mitsubishi component and you
cannot use “Universal” remotes from other manufacturers.
